Terms of Service

Last updated: 23 September 2026

1. Who we are and what you are agreeing to

ShiftPath is an independent project operated from Kazakhstan. These terms are the agreement between you and ShiftPath for the use of shiftpath.org and the ShiftPath application (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the Service.

Questions about these terms: hello@shiftpath.org.

2. Who may use the Service

You must be at least 16 years old to use ShiftPath. By using it, you confirm that you are.

3. What the Service does

ShiftPath reads current job postings for a role you choose, builds a learning roadmap from what those postings actually ask for, generates lesson material on demand, tracks your progress through it, and shows you job listings matching the role as you learn.

The learning material is generated by an AI model at the moment you request it. The job listings come from third-party job boards.

4. Accounts

You sign in with a Google account. You are responsible for keeping access to that account secure and for activity that happens under your ShiftPath account. Tell us at hello@shiftpath.org if you believe someone else has gained access to it.

Please use one account per person, and give accurate information about yourself where the Service asks for it — the quality of your roadmap depends on it.

5. Price

Your first career path — choosing a role, generating its roadmap and lessons, and searching for matching vacancies — is free. It does not expire and does not require a card.

We may introduce paid features later. If we do, they will be additions on top of what is free today, and we will not put a paywall around what this section promises. If we ever need to change that promise, we will give you notice by email first.

6. What the Service is not

Lesson content is generated by AI and may be wrong. It can contain factual errors, outdated information, or broken links. Check anything important against a primary source before relying on it. ShiftPath is a study aid, not an authoritative reference.

ShiftPath does not guarantee employment. We do not promise that completing a roadmap will get you an interview, a job offer, a salary, or a career change. What we do is measure what employers are asking for in current postings and teach against it. The outcome depends on you and on the market.

ShiftPath does not give professional advice. Nothing in the Service is legal, financial, medical, immigration, or individual career counselling advice.

We do not control job listings. Listings come from Adzuna, The Muse, and similar sources. We do not verify that they are current, accurate, or genuine, and we are not a party to anything that happens after you leave ShiftPath to apply. Treat any request for payment or personal documents from an employer with the same caution you would anywhere else online.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the Service to transmit unlawful, threatening, abusive, or obscene material;
  • impersonate another person or organisation;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to ShiftPath systems, other users' accounts, or the underlying infrastructure;
  • interfere with or disrupt the Service, including by automated requests at a volume that degrades it for others;
  • scrape, resell, or redistribute the generated content commercially;
  • share your account access with other people.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules.

8. Content and ownership

The Service itself — its design, code, and the systems that generate and structure the material — belongs to ShiftPath.

The text you write in the Service, such as messages to the AI tutor, remains yours. You grant us the limited permission needed to operate the Service: to process that text, send it to the AI provider so a response can be generated, and store it so your history is available to you.

The lesson material generated for you is yours to use for your own learning. You may not resell it or publish it as a product of your own.

9. Availability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change features, add them, or remove them. If we decide to discontinue the Service altogether, we will give you reasonable notice by email so you can export your data.

10. Ending the agreement

You can stop using ShiftPath at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account and data by writing to hello@shiftpath.org. See our Privacy Policy for how deletion works.

We may suspend or terminate your access if you break these terms or if your use harms the Service or its users. Where the circumstances allow it, we will tell you why.

11. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by the law that applies to you, ShiftPath is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service — including lost opportunities, lost earnings, or decisions you make on the basis of generated content or job listings.

Nothing in these terms limits any right you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by agreement under the law of your country.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Kazakhstan. If a dispute cannot be resolved by writing to hello@shiftpath.org first, it will be dealt with by the competent courts of Kazakhstan, except where the law of your own country of residence gives you the right to bring proceedings there.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the current version. If a change materially affects your rights, we will notify you by email or in the application before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the updated terms.
